Jesus is building His Church on the proclamation that

He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. 

Since He has defeated sin and death on the cross, and has been raised from the dead, the gates of Hell will not prevail against His Church.  In His kingly reign Jesus has appointed local churches to minister in every city and town for

worship, discipleship, and stewardship of

His goodness and grace.
